The health sector has rarely been this visible on the Luxembourg scene as it is during Healthcare Week. This year, HE:AL is hosting a pavilion.
Not just a stand. A space designed to bring together players who don’t often cross paths: hospitals, investors, insurers, policymakers. The idea is simple — gather those who fund, those who care, and those who regulate, for one week, to accelerate what usually takes months of networking.
A Launch Event with the Minister in Attendance
The week opens with a standout moment: the launch event on day one. HE:AL will unveil the next two buildings set to expand the campus, along with upcoming projects — in the presence of the minister.
A strong signal. This isn’t just a status update HE:AL is putting on the table, but a trajectory. Two new buildings mean more square metres of labs, offices and collaborative spaces to welcome the next generation Digital Health, HealthTech, and MedTech projects in Luxembourg. The minister’s presence, meanwhile, confirms what the ecosystem has been saying for years: health is no longer a peripheral sector in the country’s economic strategy — it’s becoming a pillar.
“Ask the Health Leaders”: Three Angles, One Ecosystem
Three sessions then structure the programme, under the banner “Ask the Health Leaders.” Three panel formats, three complementary perspectives on the same ecosystem.
Hospitals — A View from the Ground
René Metz, from CHEM, will share the perspective of a care institution facing, day to day, both the limits and the promise of health innovation. Far from theoretical discourse: the view of someone who has to make these technologies actually work for patients.
Investors — What Convinces an Investor
Christian Georgen, from Catalpa, will bring the perspective of someone who evaluates, funds and supports the growth of HealthTech projects. A key question for any project holder in the room: what, concretely, convinces an investor to put capital into a biotech or medtech venture?
Insurance — The Often-Overlooked Link
Stefan Pelger, from DKV, will speak to a part of the health ecosystem that’s too often overlooked, even though how well an innovation fits — or doesn’t — into reimbursement models largely determines its ability to actually reach patients.
Three sectors, three logics, one shared conviction: no health innovation is built in isolation. It needs a hospital ready to adopt it, an investor ready to fund it, an insurer ready to cover it.
What This Means for Project Holders
For the project holders in the room, the message is clear. Infrastructure is growing. Funding channels are taking shape. Bridges with hospitals and insurers are being built, publicly, on stage, with those who hold the keys.
It’s now up to each of them to seize the moment. Healthcare Week isn’t just a showcase — it’s a moment when the right connections happen, when the right questions reach the right people. And where Luxembourg’s health ecosystem, growing a little denser every year, sets the stage for what comes next.
