Having been based in BioH3 for several years, the Luxembourg engineering consultancy is now extending its presence into BioH2. A strong signal for both the company and the campus’s continued development.
When a company chooses to expand its offices on the same campus rather than look elsewhere, it is rarely by chance. This is the decision Sweco has made in Luxembourg: already occupying the entire fourth floor of BioH3, the engineering consultancy has now extended its presence into BioH2, taking half of the fourth floor in this second building.
A lasting commitment to the campus
Sweco is no newcomer to the campus. Operating in Luxembourg under the name Betic, part of Sweco, the group established its teams here several years ago, making the House of BioHealth campus one of its key locations in Esch-sur-Alzette. With 106 employees in Luxembourg and expertise spanning building services engineering, project management, sustainable construction and the circular economy, Sweco has found fertile ground for growth in this scientific and business environment.
This technical expertise also has a direct connection to healthcare: Sweco is involved in the engineering design studies for the new hospital, a project that illustrates the link between its engineering capabilities and the medical sector — precisely the connection that makes a company eligible to join House of BioHealth.
The expansion into BioH2 reflects tangible growth. It also demonstrates a clear decision: to remain in an environment that works, while keeping teams together on one campus.
Tenant loyalty as a measure of success
For House of BioHealth, this expansion sends a powerful signal. Seeing a longstanding tenant extend its footprint from one building to another while remaining within the ecosystem illustrates what the campus has sought to offer since its inauguration in 2015: an environment where businesses can grow seamlessly.
House of BioHealth was designed to support projects over the long term, going beyond temporary accommodation: start-ups building their first teams, established companies strengthening their presence, and organisations seeking to become part of a leading scientific network in Luxembourg.
Sweco illustrates this journey. Other companies are following similar paths: the campus is now home to a diverse mix of biotech, cleantech and ICT businesses, sharing a high-quality working environment, proximity to the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), and a strategic location on the doorstep of the future Cité des Sciences.
A campus with room to grow
This expansion is part of the campus’s ongoing development. In BioH3, more than 1,800 m² of laboratory space remains available, in 101 m² modules that can be combined to meet individual needs. Office spaces ranging from 97 to 225 m² are also available to rent.
For teams looking to establish themselves in a supportive environment or take the next step in their development, House of BioHealth remains a prime choice. Sweco’s decision to grow here is one of the clearest demonstrations of that today.
